The Grave Woman

Добавлен 11 ноя 2013
My name is Joél Simone Anthony. I am a licensed funeral director and sacred grief practitioner in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally from Beaufort, South Carolina, I was raised in the heart of Gullah and Geechee culture. Spirituality has always been a huge part of my life and professional approach which is deeply rooted in ancient wisdom passed down from community elders, generation to generation.
During my decade of service in the funeral service industry, I fashioned my unique background and professional experiences into a caliber and style of care and comfort that guides countless families toward healing through the exploration of alternative practices designed to help you navigate and heal through your journey with grief.
It is my life's work to educate everyone -regardless of faith, race, age, or status - that death, dying and grief are sacred and transformative to our journeys as human beings.

Yes
I have a question. Do they strap a deceased in the casket under their clothes?
Loved this thank you ladies, be blessed always 😘
I bought the cards, not a conducive study material, i do not recommend. Perhaps the crash course is better.
Do You Know where Capers Island Circle Is ? How about Dr Buzzards son Stephany Robinson
Walai msitunyamazie kwelii let's just help each other 🙏 juu wengine tumefinyiwa mahali
It's nice just help me to study in your institution
Back in the day onward & upward ... stop look and listen!
They have a committed teacher! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing yourselves with us. You both have such beautiful energy, and I love hearing your perspectives and stories.
I love Alua 💚 I took her death doula course during cov. She is so knowledgeable and approachable. I'm happy for the book and all of the exposure she is getting. I'm very excited to listen to the two of you together because the both of you inspire me to do what I know I'm called to do. 😊
This video was amazing
Shoutout to Santee South Carolina spent my childhood summers there but I was born in New Orleans whewwwwww never knew what that meant until I moved back to Louisiana but I fell in love with Marie Laveau the moment I seen her she is the truth 🙏🏾
Was aiming for a health related course and so i went for a four year course...BS Global health and travel medicine... but for this i will enroll for a course on mortician industry...Thanks for this info and your due response to questions❤
Also, I am praying for you -- and be sure to actually pray for them.
I fear that job and the practitioners.
Love me some Uncle Brandon!
I 💕 u 🪦 ♀️
Nailed it!
Nailed It!
Nailed It! Pun intended
They know, oh yeah. But the word "dead" is never used. They know that they've passed over. They are normally not near the body at all.
And don't forget "Love Story" with Ali McGraw and Ryan O'Neal. When I was in high school, that was the saddest, most romantic love story we had ever seen (besides Brian's Song).
Brian's Song - also a true story
Shadowlands (a true story) - with Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger
A lot of information we did not know! Thanks for this video🥰
I agree with the car accident phobia. I won't even drive at night now.
I love listening to you. I especially like the story about the woman on the motorcycle.
I'm not familiar with your work, I found my way here via a "caitlin doughty interview" search, but this was an incredible interview! You really know how to ask great questions, ones that genuinely provoke some deep thoughts in the interviewee. I like what she said about not being very online. I've often wondered how she can stay so level-headed and non-combative with some of the topics she covers, while also being confident in her opinions and advocacy.
Hey Jo`el You are good at doing different styles of make up and fashion! Beautiful ❤
Wow, thank you so much for explaining my mom passed away 3 weeks ago. And we buried her 3 days ago. And we had the viewing. And we touched her arm of course and heard a crunch of plastic. Lifted her sleeve and saw saran wrap. It definitely made me concerned. But you eased my mind with this video. Thank you ❤.
The name Hoodoo come from the word UNDU which means medicine. UNDU is an Akan Word.
*throwing my phone across the room* Ms. Lisa said Black women taking care of 10 people and not taking care of herself. Responsible for too many adults.
I'm tryna date this mortician I met and also want to be a funeral assistant potentially (considering the possibility of mortuary school for myself as well), so thanks for this chat haha
I cannot thank you enough for this information. I do not necessarily want to prepare the deceased, but I want to have a role in funeral service. Mortuary transport was my first choice, but there's no real options in my city. There is a funeral assistant position available though...I think I just might apply. I have the temperament for this industry. I love people and I want to take care of people in the hardest time of their life after losing someone, and I am extremely compassionate, caring, understanding, and can handle these situations with tact. Thank you for this
I am coughing again proud of you
I was wondering how they embalming the body these days.

I really enjoyed this. The 3 questions will be my selfwork/ homework. U are truly a blessing ❤
Oh how wonderful!!! I am so excited that you enjoyed it and that you’re embracing the questions. Please let me/us know what comes up and what your answers come out to be! Thanks so much for watching 🖤
Couldn't get on while you were live,ok now!I was born in 1950,do you think in that era grief was different then now or different by country or influenced by people. In the U.K. children were never included in conversation or being allowed to go to a funeral, grandparents were just not around anymore! I stand up to be counted in my adult life 'to be there' a hug, a smile. ❤
Thanks so much for watching <3
